African Market Baskets are strong, durable, colorful and entirely handmade. Each basket is unique and beautiful.
Our baskets are made from river grass, known as “elephant grass” by local weavers in Bolgatanga, Ghana. Baskets with leather handles are wrapped in goat skin for comfort and durability. The leather is naturally tanned using local seeds and red millet.
Large (Perfect for books, magazines, gloves, knit caps, scarves, etc.: 16” - 18” diameter
Small (Perfect for Kids- toys, small books, collecting berries, etc: 6” - 8” diameter
